Correlation to Common Core State Standards and Voluntary National Standards

Articles correspond to College and Career Readiness (CCR) Anchor Standards for Reading. In particular, they address #10: Read and comprehend complex literary and informational texts independently and proficiently. (See p. 10 of Common Core State Standards for English Language Arts and Literacy in History/Social Studies, Science, and Technical Subjects. www.corestandards.org)


In addition to CCR 10, the articles correspond to grade specific reading standards for informational text. Specifically, the articles touch on standards 1-4 and 10 for grades 4, 5, & 6. (Grade specific standards are found on p. 14 for grades 4 & 5 and p. 39 for grade 6.)
